Many times when we come to the bible we don’t always know how to approach it. We might take it as a story book or a set of historical accounts. However, Jesus said that everything that had been written in the Old Testament was actually testifying concerning Him. How we approach it determines the outcome of our experience.
Approaching the Bible | John 5:39-40
Got something to say? Go for it!
Thanks for sharing this video. I’ve been considering this myself recently, our need to realize to Whom we come when we read the Bible.
To properly approach the Word is to come to Him; to sit and listen to His very present speaking to us (Luke 10:39); to be supplied with life (John 6:63); to be washed.(Ephesians 5:26)… Whenever I come to the Word with this proper view I touch the Person and gain so much yet without this, in my experience, the Word is dry and poor.
Therefore to have this realization is no small thing. It makes each Bible reading time a divine appointment with the Lord!
